National Fitness Day 29th September- Call for regional event proposals- funding available

04 August, 2017

Dear Member,

Ireland Active is running its second National Fitness Day on Friday 29th September during the European Week of Sport.

The event is supported and funded by Sport Ireland and Healthy Ireland and this year they have provided funding to allow our members to host some regional events which will have a large number of participants and a big visual impact.

We are calling for members to submit proposals for grant funding (approx. €500-€2,500 each) to host regional events (4-8) that will have major impact.

The proposals should be no longer than two A4 pages and should address each the following headings-

* Name of applicant(s)- Ireland Active member(s), contact person
* Location of Event- e.g. city/town square, facility
* Date of event- 29th September is National Fitness Day, however consideration will be given to events during the European Week of Sport
* Partners in event- e.g. local business, charity, equipment provider etc.
* Number of participants to be involved
* Details of event and how it will be delivered
* Budget for event – how you will spend the money, matching funding etc.
* Evaluation- how you will record the number of participants and impact (media etc.)

Ideas for events could include for example- outdoor group fitness classes, aqua-aerobics, world record attempts etc.

It is preferable for partners to be involved in the events (e.g. local authorities, nor for profits, charities, equipment providers etc.). Decisions on proposals and grants shall be decided by Sport Ireland/HI/Ireland Active and shall be final.

Ireland Active will support the events and facilities participating in NFD with marketing materials and national and local promotion. We will also be running a public competition for free memberships in facilities, more information will be available about this in the coming weeks.

Proposals (and any advance queries) should be submitted to Conn McCluskey, Ireland Active by Friday 18th August – ceo@irelandactive.ie.

Best of luck with your proposals.

Kind Regards,

Conn
