Opportunity for facilities to work with local primary schools on EU Event. ALCIS

ALCIS (Active Learning for Children in Schools) is an EU Project that involves local fitness facilities delivering a fun group exercise fitness experience for local schoolchildren.

Ireland Active are looking for local fitness facilities to sign up for the project, and through the Department of Education local schools will be contacted and offered 2 fun group exercise events that can be held in the school or the local facility (whatever the school and facility agree).

The Facility will provide an instructor to present a fun group exercise event on two occasions. The first will be on Tuesday 8th September which will form part of the large EU event, European Week of Sport (EWoS), and will be promoted nationally and internationally. The second event will take place on an agreed date with the school & facility before the end of October.

In between the two events students will have the opportunity to complete a 4 week diary that will promote regular physical activity, with an opportunity for facilities to promote or offer additional physical opportunities for the students.

If you would like to take part in this large EU event please email

Time is short so please send email before Friday 26th June.
